Mother Goddess Yoga Training (Online)
Jan 10 from 8-11am/1-4pm + Jan 11 from 8-11am (PST)
Mother Goddess Yoga is an artful, powerful, and deeply meaningful approach to yoga rooted in some of the most ancient spiritual traditions on Earth: the worship of the Divine Mother and the Feminine Principle as the power of creation, sustenance, and transformation.
While Mother Goddess lineages exist in every culture, this yogic practice draws from the richness of the Indian legacy—honoring Shaktism, devotional texts to the Divine Mother, the embodied Bhakti sadhana of Odissi dance, and the empowering formulas of Hatha Yoga.
The practice is both simple and profound, infused with sacred symbolism, inspiring poetry, nature’s imagery, and subtle spiritual energies, where the narrative is told from a matrilineal paradigm.
Physically, it honors all body types, offering a practice that is grounding and balancing, strengthening the lower body, opening the power center, and sculptural in form—refined, detailed, and rococo-like in its alignment.
Most importantly, Mother Goddess Yoga invites you into a living relationship with the Divine Feminine Power (Shakti) and the Great Goddess (Devi), offering a path of devotion where you may rest under Her guardianship and cultivate your own intimate connection with Her many forms—learning from within how to recognize Her power and apply it as a way of viewing, serving, and honoring humanity.
Meet Nubia
Y O G I N I , A U T H O R & Y O G A T E A C H E R .
I have been teaching yoga for over 35 years, with a mission to shine new light on ancient traditions and make them relevant for modern times.
I am the author of Yoga and the Art of Mudras, a book that intertwines the beauty of Bhakti (devotion) and the classical Indian dance of Odissi within a Hatha Yoga sadhana.
Since I began learning and teaching yoga at the age of 18, I have been uncovering where She is within the yogic tradition, and reshaping the narrative of yoga to empower the voice of the Feminine.
I founded Mother Goddess Yoga to share my love and devotion to the Divine Mother with other bhaktas alike. Through this work, I offer sacred, embodied practices that are accessible to all.
I welcome you to explore these pages with curiosity, and to contact me if you have any questions.
Yoga and The Art of Mudras Book
Yoga and the Art of Mudras is a guided journey into the alchemy of asana (yoga poses) and mudra (hand gestures).
In this book, Nubia blends her passion and expertise in yoga and dance to create a rare collection of devotional yoga poses.
This collection supports bhaktas (devotees of the heart) in embellishing their yogasanas with meaningful and symbolic hand gestures
from the tradition of the Natya Shastra (the sacred arts of India).
Discover how to use the medium of your hands to cultivate spiritual connection in your life and express bhakti in motion!
