I know we’ve all seen and felt inspired by images from the Hindu Pantheon – dancing Shiva, jolly Ganesha, heroic Hanuman, inspirational Saraswati, abundant Lakshmi, fierce and compassionate Durga – but how much do we really understand of these ancient archetypical Deities?
In the Bhakti Nova training we will learn to embody and appreciate, through our hearts, minds and senses, through asana, mudra, mantra and artistic expression, the bountiful and ancient legacy of devotional yoga.
By deeply experiencing the energies of our Divine benefactors – their elements, their gifts and their grace – we hope to infuse our yoga practice and yoga teaching with a powerful and transformative spirit.
Experience devotional yoga in motion – a blending of Bhakti Yoga and Odissi Classical Indian dance – by exploring yoga practices that express the energies of specific gods and goddesses from the Hindu pantheon.
Two Sundays from 2 pm – 6 pm:
March 8 – Ganesha, Shiva, Durga, Hanuman
March 15 – Brahma, Sarasvati, Vishnu, Lakshmi
Enjoy a yoga sequence based on archetypes and elements of the deities, plus
Their Poses, Mudras, Mantras and Breathing exercises.
After 24 years of teaching yoga and 18 years of devotion to the practice of Odissi (Classical Indian devotional dance), Nubia created these workshops as a way to share some of the precious gems she has collected over the course of many years and many journeys. These gems have become the foundation of her own yoga practice.
